Help needed.

How many drain holes should be in the rockers and where?

My car is in the paint shop.
I haven’t done a final inspection before topcoat but will tomorrow. I just want to be sure any haven’t been lost in the primer filler stage. I’ve had a look at my own photos but omitted to record this detail completely.

What I do know is the lower front fender has 3 drain holes.
The centre section has 2 holes. One either end close to the seam.
I am however a bit sketchy about the rear section.

Here is a photo from my archives of my previous car with my guess as to how many drain holes there should be and where.

Then I saw this photo in the gallery. I hope the owner doesn’t mind. It does show my first 4 hole guesses seem to be correct....

But what happens as we work rearward?

Help! Please...

Thanks for looking.

Even after paint you can add any needed drain holes. They can be touched up after the fact and they are out of sight. Also 2 or 3 drain holes per door.

The NOS rear quarter for my 62 has drain holes near the cutout for the jacking point as follows:

-80mm behind the rear of the jack cutout

-50mm in front of the front of the jack cutout

-150mm in front of the front of the jack cutout

My repro repair panel for the other side has vent slots (not holes) that line up with these but the flange on the bottom is longer toward the rear so make sure you measure from the jack cutout. I will need to shrink these drain slots and drill holes to match the other side and trim the flange.

My repro panels for the front repair sections don't have any drain holes so please advise details on here when you find out.

Here's a photo showing the front drain holes on my original rockers.
Starting at the front, the first hole is spaced 50mm from the wheel opening lip. Then another 55mm to the second, 60mm to the third and 65mm to the fourth and the holes are 5mm.

The car is upside down on rotisserie in that moment.

Thanks guys. That’s awesome. Measurements as well!
And may be of use if someone else searches this topic.

Best regards.

Just in case you don't have these, there is also a drain hole in the rear quarter behind the wheel to drain the wheel well in the side of the engine bay and a drain hole in the bottom of the spare wheel well at the front.
