Ive double checked to make sure my cable are not hung up weird and the actuators themselves are in the closed positions with slack on the cable... im still getting a nice blast of hot air in my bus... Its hot here in Atlanta already and my heater boxes leaking hot air into the cab is not helping? I dont want to cap them off and cause other problems.... my engine is kind of hot rodded and prone to running warmer than stock...bus details in sig
Opinions? Tricks? Tips? Answers?

I'll have to check mine too since I live northeast of the perimeter. Let me knwo how you tackle it.While the foam thing seems good I am wondering about the humidity issue with it too.

You can always just remove the accordion tubes for the summer months and plug the ducts leading forward into the cab.

Have a buddy sit up front and work the heat levers as you check the actuation of the heater box flaps. Maybe something is up there.

What’s your CR?

I guess like sugggested above ...pulling the accordians and capping off the tubes is a quick fix.... Dont wanna fool with the exaust coming off to fiddle with the boxes unless i have to drop motor for something anyway... When i had the boxes off a few months ago the flaps actuated and looked fine internally but i guess they obviously dont seat/seal very well anymore... next time i have them off ill try the high temp foam mod on them...

closed positions with slack on the cable
You don't want slack in the cable. Maybe they are not closing all the way?

Im going to revisit the status of the cables this weekend...it appears that the cables become taught when the heat levers are in the on position and slackened when levers are in the off.... correct? Regardless im getting under the bus this weekend to see what i can do to stop the heat.... im warm enough riding in the weatger without added heat ... ill report back this weekend

The valves on the heat exchangers should be spring loaded, disconnecting the cables should turn off the heat. Unless the valves are rotten internally or missing the fabric gaskets on the flapper discs, I have also seen some hang up internally so they always remain cracked open, a push or a quick snap back from open will fix that until the next time someone pulls a red lever down.
