87 Vanagon GL

I had my Power Steering Rack replaced almost a year ago. The other day when I arrived home I noticed PS fluid gushing out from around the pump area. I want to take it to the shop so what do you recommend I do:

1. Top it up with PS fluid and get there as quick and strait as I can. My guy is like 12 miles away.

2. Tow it

3. I thought I remembered reading that I could just take off the belt from the PS pump. Does that belt affect anything else?

Thank you for your time.

Take the belt off. It steers just fine without power steering.

I drove from Crater Lake Oregon to NJ without a belt, hardly missed it!

Cheers Dave. It looks easy to take off.
