i seem to like to do everything twice on this syncro. anyway...

my van is a 1987 syncro and it came without a tachometer. when i did my subi 2.2 conversion i had the blue foil replaced with the GoWesty wiring and green board. it works great but i'd really like to change it out for the instrument cluster with the tachometer. i have one with tachometer in very good condition.
i know i need to switch out the speedometer because it is different. i'm going to rebuild the led clock with the gowesty kit.

my questions are
will the vans wiring plug already have the tachometer signal?
and the led clock?

or do i have to do some extensive rewireing to switch out the clusters.

i want to keep the original look and not add a after market tachometer.

appreciate the knowledge and help on here.
best
chris

The 87 van's 14 pin connector for the cluster should be wired fine to work with either version of 86+ cluster, tach or analog clock.

i changed my 1980 cluster to a tack cluster. i know its different, but i had to switch every wire in that 14 pin plug, and thanks to the instructions from the "OldVolksguys the new cluster worked perfect! i was totally amazed!

My 1986 was literally plug and play.

The question is, did the green tach wire end up on the Subaru coil?

I changed out my clock for a tach years ago. it is doable, the wire is there.

plug and play would be outstanding.
it was made dec. of 1986 but registered and sold as a 1987

if not i'm grabbing the vwguy book!

i'm sure the green wire to subaru coil didn't make it. where might i find that green wire to attach it?

you folks are awesome. thank you!!!

best
