Has anybody had recent contact with Brothers VW Machine Shop in Ontario lately? Are they doing ok? I sure hope so because there's not a whole lot of choices out there anymore !
They told me they'd have a set of cylinders done over 4 weeks ago and they don't answer email or telephone---last couple weeks the answering machine was full and this week no answering machine--just rings and rings. |

Finally got them to answer their phone on Wednesday March 6th. Had been trying since February 25th via email and phone from a promise made February 13th "done in one week", wow.
I think they lost tract of that promise lol and apparently forgot about it then went on vacation shutting down the shop the past week or more
Meantime, I purchased another set of cylinders, had them drop-shipped here and a local shop is cutting them for me so now I'll have two sets lol
So they're still alive and well, but just lost track of what they told me and darn they should have re-recorded their answering machine message to say they'd be out on vacation ! |

after running a machine shop for many many years,I can say I didnt keep up with vacations. and if you rush them to do it...or they get in a hurry worying about the good time on vacation...you may get a set of effed up cylinders and need the 2nd set.....Ive had to fix many shops eff ups...possiably they were also on vacation. I did not have a phone in the shop at all. I usualy did the small stuff when I was either waiting for parts or when I needed a break from something else, not starting a 3 hour job when theres only a hour left, then you do some small stuff or set up work...or shoot the shit with the snappon man..... I did very little vw work back then.just some for the vw shop next door then for mine....after I got goat roped into vw's. and those effing goat rope knots are dam tight. |

My concern wasn't about vacations, it was about what I was told mid-February "in about a week they'll be ready" and no announcement, message or communication that they would be closed for vacation since with anybody. That's my concern here. |
