This weekend in Lakeland Fl is a 50 year Herbie celebration. They’re even going to screen the movie.
I’m going. What other Sambanistas will be there? _________________ Volkswagen!

I was nine and my Dad worked for V.O.A. at the time. The local dealership reserved the entire theatre for VW employess and friends, past out trinkets (which I still have, somewhere) They had boxes of those large and small hippy type flowers with HERBIE name on them.
I remember it vividly.

Having been born 11 years to late for the original release, I'm finally getting around to it at 45yrs old. I kinda felt like it was required material having just bought mine two weeks ago. Now I see why all you hippies fell in love with VW. I'm only 22 minutes in and I'm loving this movie! _________________ Chris - 1968 Beetle Sedan, a book, and a lot of determination. |
