Hi All,

Would an early 60 ghia convertible have the gas tank color same as the body color?

Thanks in advance!

I found two references... here...
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=647034
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=297129

.... suggesting that the tank should be body colour

Nicholas

Thanks for the posts Nicholas.

My tank is currently gray which looks nice but I'm leaning towards body color which seems to be what was on there originally.

Thanks again!

You are very welcome Very Happy
How about you posting photos and showing us your car in its own thread. We'd all love to see it and learn its story.

Nicholas

My June '60 Coupe still has it's original fuel tank, in original paint, which is body colour. (Mango green)

I did the usual many hours of research of all things Ghia because I own a 70 vert. Found that the gas tank was sometimes body color, and sometimes not. The factory was not consistent with several areas. Especially pained parts that were not considered important to deviate on it their opinion.
