It has gone slowly... I would appreciate any advice about how to gently get the door/window rubber (now petrified rubber!) off to allow me to preserve the original Sekurit glass and the window frames. Thanks... |

Lots of patience! I also use a small cotter key removal tool. Works sweet!
Do you mind sharing what the rest of the car looks like? We love pictures! _________________ Jimbo

Remove the glass first.
You'll never get the scrapers off with the operating window in place (open or closed)... and also, it beats accidentally nicking any edge of the tempered glass & one makes the sudden sound of 'OOPS' and then immediately followed by the sound of kablooey...
Once the operators are out of the way, (and stored in a safe place) a good stiff 2" flat blade, between the scraper & body, will easily pop the scrapers right off with minimal effort.
After that, you'll need to hunt around in the felt channels to find the buried-in flat-head screws holding the channels & trims in place to remove...
And yeah for the vent windows... Stanley knife, hook tool & then clean up with a medium-sharp chisel to clean out the chunks left in the channels.
Hope it helps ... _________________ ::: Slowoval ::: LaDawri Sebring ::: '61 Creampuff ::: Dust Storm '66 ::: |
