| With over two million cases world wide and counting, im curious if any samba members have gotten it. I was pretty sick 2 weeks ago but no cough or fever just headaches and slight loss of smell/taste. Think it was sinus infection. My wife’s cousin just came off a ventilator and is doing fine. My sister was sick as a dog 1 month ago, fever cough etc.. but no tests were available. She never went to the hospital and has recovered but cough has lingered. So no clue yet if she had it. We have been super hunkered down since March 13th when we cancelled our spring break to Mexico. I feel like before this is over, most if not all of us will get it to some degree (if we havent unknowingly already) |

| I have lost my sense of taste and smell with every cold, sniffle and sore throat I have ever had in the last 60+ years. I also loose them both every summer from hay fever. It's not a very definitive test. It's the way our bodies react to any bug, virus and irritation that comes along. |

We will all either get it (with symptoms from mild to fatal), or if we stay isolated long enough, we might be given an inoculation before we do. But one way or another, the virus will find us all. It's what they do.
I am very lucky to be able to work from home, but so many cannot and are really hurting financially.
Some coworkers have reported symptoms, and the company did right by sending others home and paying them to do so. But it's been at a low and slow level, thankfully.
Despite the temptation to "open the economy" soon, that will kill many and cost us so much more. The science tells us that staying closed for several weeks, and that means ALL OF US, is the only way to "flatten the curve" and let us deal with the virus with the healthcare system we have.
It's the only way to (1) save lives and (2) get the economy on an even footing again. It's really "a stitch in time saves nine" but the cloth is our lives. Trust the science, not the politicians, and remember your high school science.
Thanks to all our healthcare workers! |

Have known 2 people that tested positive...
1. My friends cousin....55 y/o-ish man in great health. Had it for 3 weeks and was on a ventilator for a week. Is now home on Long Island and is doing well. They suspect he might need home O2 for up to 8 weeks to help his lungs recover
2. A co-worker who went out on disability about 6 years ago for melanoma. He came back from the brink of death several times from his cancer. Was on experimental treatments for a while and was.....well...alive, but certainly not healthy. He got covid19 and it took his life last week. He was late 50s. It was very quick |

| Guy I used to work with is dead now from Covid. 5 others in same place are positive but there are probably more because there’s no testing. |

I probably got it all over my body. That is why I keep away from my loved ones when I am at home. I know several dozens.
All I will say is..stay away from each other. Wash your hands before you touch your faces. And don't be hugging your kids or anyone. We just rub asses at work now to say hello...some elbows.
STay safe you all. Don't go out unless you have to. |

Both my parents got it long before the “corona virus” was even a thing. Or at least we are petty sure. I think my dad brought it home after he came back from NorCal. Its not a fun thing to have. The poor man didn’t get out of bed for almost 3 days straight during the peek of it. But yeah, like others said. Did he get tested for having the antibodies? If not you are only speculating. He could have been ill from any number of sicknesses including good old flu. Anyone that wants to know where they stand positive, negative, or recovered needs to get tested.
As of yesterday fully 1% of the U.S. population has been tested so the other 99% are running around in the dark. Even if we could test a million people a day it would take a year to get it done. This kind of mobilization needs to be done on federal level but you tell me if you see this as
a priority because I don’t see it being discussed from the top.
Soon as I’m done writing this I’m calling county health dept to find out where I can get tested to see if I’ve already had and recovered from Covid. If so I’ll gladly donate plasma to someone on a ventilator. I want answers not binge watching reruns while on lockdown.
I’ve been helping elderly neighbors who have been locked up since beginning. Ask yourself “what can I do to help”
To those of you already working in the trenches Thank You. |

No, he never got tested as for no one knew of covid-19 really then. But he had already had the flu like 2 months earlier so I doubt it. Another factor that could play into the whole thing is that when he was visiting cal, he had met a friend of his brothers who had literally just come from china and who was found sick just a few days after he left. Does it really matter anymore? No... but if anything, you dont want covid if thats what he had. _________________ -'85 c10 5.3 LS, cam, heads, long tubes, x pipe, 3 inch spin tech's

I wasn't aware that widespread anti-body testing was available to the general public |

I tried the health dept and spoke to a moron that had no idea what I was talking about. Put on hold a Superviser advised me to call a blood plasma center. Next I called my Dr. office they knew what I was talking about but didn’t have any information on how to proceed. Called local news that ran a program yesterday that featured the first positive case in the state. The patient recovered and donated the plasma which saved someone on a vent.
Other than a feel good story they had no info how to help. I’ve come to the conclusion that although this sounds like a good idea and has shown promise there is no leadership or organizational structure leading this. Every state every governor is on their own. Without massive testing and contact tracing and exploiting the use of antibodies until a vaccine is developed we are fucked. Where is the leadership? Where does the buck stop? |

Got enough, with social distancing, the rate dropped to the point that we have an excess. So, as promised, some are being sent to other locations. I watched the governor's news conference and hear that some are being sent to New Jersey, Maryland and Michigan. _________________ Glenn
