We did that mod on Rob's roadster about 5 years (maybe longer), as he wanted to be able to lock the front trunk. The hardest part was getting a key made to fit the lock. Got the lock out of the Samba classifieds for a Ghia convertible.

I think the key may be the same as the doors and the glove box door? If not, sure is close.
Here it is finished with a working hood.

yeah, on a bug vert it would be the same key as the ignition. I only know because I had a '60 vert, so it's a 1 year only based one 1 year only keys

In his case he worked with a local locksmith for the key. We also bolted the base assembly to the body, versus to a tab, like it would be in a Ghia.

I recently bought the rear engine bay cover replacement from Serge @ the Doorpanelshop. They did at one time offer a oilsoaked board that sounds like it would be more in line with the original, but now sells in wood only. I got the wood not having any at all for my project. Dealing with Serge was great. Quick to respond and a fellow enthusiast. Shipped to me in San Diego from NL was 3 days. Packed well. Couldn't ask for better. Fitment of the pane requires some bendy maneuvering, but is very manageable. It sat snug in two places that will require me to trim a bit. Something I would expect since the T34 is a hand built car. Tolerances may vary. Only criticism I would have is on the print of the AUF/ZU. It could be a lot darker. Otherwise very pleased overall and worth the effort. Thanks again to Serge and the Doorpanelshop for taking the time to develop and offer a part for our cars that would otherwise have to self build. 😎🤙🌺

That looks damn good. I'm surprised the shipping box survived Home Land Security, as most of the time they look like they were chewed up and spat out.

Not only are they white stripe- they have the same tread as the old trusty 1960s/ 70s Michelin XZX. They are just a shade taller than the stock 600-15L and they are wider. The whitewalls are blems but if you put in the time they clean up damn near perfect. I have one set on a customer's Type 34 and another set on another customer's 912. In fact, at stock tire pressure (add 3 PSI for P-metric radials) and with a correct alignment/ ride height and a corner balance these grip the road and make cornering better than it has a right to be. No rubbing either.

Michelin XZX were my second choice. But are as well as the ones you posted to pedestrian and are just for the plain coupes And I wouldn't be showing no white walls.

Been busy dinking away at the core. Cleaning up the wiring from 50 years of PO muckery. I got a late square and an early bay harness to open up and source OG German wires. Im defiantly well into enough time and $ spent to have just gotten a new loom from ISP. But Im 3/4 done so will run this path to completion.
I got the SB13's mounted to see how it all fit. They look good and will most likely keep them. I need to assemble my Euro T34 Ghia headlights and put one on for comparison.
These SB13's do have a bit of the Bug Eye going on. Kinda like Tram every morning on the toilet. 😘💩

I ran SB 13's on my 64 T-34, but with sealed beams, and they looked normal. I'm wondering if you added something that's causing the bulb to stick out further than it should.  Either that, or you're using the wrong chrome trim pieces. I only say that as the multi-piece headlight assemblies used a different outer ring. I only had one, and it went with the car when I sold it (it was dented and bent).

It's the shape of the bulb housings. Autopia still makes these with a rounded lens like sealed beams have rather than the flat Hella or Bosch lenses. I struggled with this on a 34 I am going through for a friend/ customer. He wanted LEDs but the Hella assemblies they came in were bug-eyed in the car. I picked up Autopias and the LED generator plugged right in, and now the bulbs no longer look like notchboy still on one of his Westy poop buckets after a few hours of water closet isometrics.

This is all stock T34 stuff Bob - even the rings - even says SB13 on it. Im pretty sure this is looking pronounced because its lacking a breakup in lines, The bumper and even turn signals will help this look out.
These H4's are 7.25-7.5 inch wide lenses. A stock Euro T34 headlight lens is only 6.75. Almost and inch difference in circumference.

Okay, as long as you're good with it. When I did mine with sealed beams, I used the SB 13 rings and SB 12 type 3 sealed beam parts inside of them. The rings were stamped SB13 too. I got one of my rings from OFC Doug, who sent Lee parts for his 62 T-34. I stopped by his house when I got the rear parcel section from him (picked it up). In the parts I got from Russ though, there was one decent outer ring that was different for use with the multi piece headlight assembly. It included the reflector chrome too. All separate parts. Unfortunately I didn't get all of the parts for both sides to use them, which is why I went with the sealed beam lights and SB 13 rings.
