Looking for some help with my Thing project. Going to build an off-road look but not do much off-roading. Paint, lift, tires & rims, bumpers, roof rack, lights, etc. I dont need a pre-runner suspension. Just want to drive it and have fun.
Any help / comments with the following is helpful:
3" Lift - front and back
Fenders
Replace bumpers with tube bumpers
Replace side intakes with flush louvers
roof rack
hood rack
Rims / tire sizes
Engine upgrades
Etc, Etc, Etc.... |

Hey Dshipp, what does your ride look like now? Photos definitely motivates the participation it seems here.
I have found that dual carburetors and a more open muffler did let a dual port 1600 sound and behave a little more fun (in a bug), without interfering with the engineering of an otherwise mostly stock motor. Converting from the generator to an alternator, and a beefier one at that as they are available with various levels of more amps, will help feed some off road lights. _________________ Big Time 1988 Vanagon Westy
