Are there any new Bosch starters out there or a new quality part that's not a rebuild? Thanks for any tips.

I looked for a new unit some time ago. What i found was VERY expensive. I went for a rebuilt Bosch unit and it has worked out so far.

I've had good luck with local starter/alternator/generator repair shops. I like the fact that the item I dropped off is the same item I am re-installing. No fitment issues.

How much does the shop charge to rebuild your starter?

I can rebuild your starter. I have new Bosch brushes with coils.
I will test it on my engine test stand.
I'm in Gilroy, so you can see it cranking my 1600.

I have built over 200 Hybrid starters.

Gene Berg may have what you want. He says they are "genuine Bosch" and...
------------------------
Sold outright with "NO" core charge. These are sold as rebuilt, however in many cases they are brand new in a box that is marked "Rebuilt".
-------------------------

His part # is BSHSR11X, here:
