I have a 97 EVC and am looking to take this piece of shelving out - I can see the screws and brackets at the top but not at the bottom - does anyone know how to take this out completely and what/how it is being held at the bottom.

I don’t have an answer to your question but I will say I find that space to be much more useful after removing the shock cord. I kept it on the upper section of the cabinet and removed in the lower section.
