Hi everyone:
I've been keeping an eye on this board since I picked up an 82 westy back in August. I got it from the second owners, a couple who had it for 22 years. Then I left it with the mechanic for a few week$.
This is my first full westy and first VW in almost 20 years. My first car was a 64 bus (died in a tragic rollover) followed shortly by a 71 and 72.
Anyway the thing is I have some questions for you fellas but figured I'd introduce myself first!

welcome
now go make sure your mechanic changed 100% of your fuel lines.. each and every inch (or mm if you're metrically inclined)
it's imperative to our forum pleasure that you not come back with "My new van burned today"
more pics too. _________________

That is where Westy's should be. Camping with their top popped.
Nice photo!

Congrats on your Westy -- looks like you already know what you need to do now: Enjoy it!

Yeah, money (or time, blood and sweat) is often what it takes before the fun can begin. |

Welcome, how about a picture of the engine compartment? Air Cooled vanagons have some challenges when it comes to keeping them cool running. A picture might point out something obvious that we can advise you on. Plus we like pictures. |

Hey they'll pretty much give a drivers license to anyone out here.
That's Remy and I swear his favorite thing to do these days is go hang out in the westy with some keys or a screwdriver.
Good idea about the engine compartment rsxsr. I'll get a picture of that. _________________ 95 EVC
