Finished the Headliner beading and the corners in the rear, now i need those little clamps for the headliner beading on the a pillars i seen the here anywhere.

I tried different things to get the skylight windows in, after I bought a set of vewib seals it worked, they are very good i my eyes, totally soft.

I usead Balistof as a lube as günther said, also lubed the window so seal part and hammered them with a piece of wood and a big hammer im place, i should do that again one the car is out in the hot sun and the headliner gets softer in the inside corners.

Also started the work on some inner panels:

This is coming together quickly ! Always forget how much work lies in the detail of interior stuff and like gluing back vinyl on cardboards and stuff.... BTW what is the type of wheels you have on the bus? Did you have them on the T2A SC before ? They do look like kind of deep dish ? fit the bus very nicely.

If you should find those clamps and manage to get more than two, I'll take one Wink

I lost mine Sad and I only need one for the slider version...

You are doing very good!

I found a clamp in my spare samba roof, ony one because it’s from a sliding door bus, but here are some measurements and a picture of a original beading with a white insert in the end?

You can buy that clamps easily online, called: “onelatched” 8mm wire clips.

I used some spare inner beading to make the ends in the clamps strong.

I've been lurking around in your thread since the beginning. Amazing work MAN!
Thank you for sharing your journey. Sometimes I feel like I am sitting on a milk crate in your shop watching you build this bus.

I used the same material as for the side panels. Should be available at the common stores, like werk34.de etc.

some process here:

ordering more different pop out window seals, some of them are to big on the outside that the window not fit in the frame of the car, the other ones are to small in the profile of the window frame, so it traveling to one side and fall out.
i insert two wires in the side of it, holds better but also fall out, i get out of ideas soon here...

bougt that expensive rivets from BBT for the sunroof couver, the are to big and anyway the wrong style.
so i made some from pop rivets:

made some hammer rivet tools out from my rivet caliper:

and installed the old sunroof couver:
tight fit and i still have the srews loose on the rear stripe that it have some time to get the correct fit after that many years in storage.

I absolutely love watching your projects come together!
I am in awe of the metal shaping skills!
But I do have the same old Pfaff sewing machine as you. And, I know how to use it. Although it's not my daily driver.
So, I'm glad we have one thing in common.
Along with buses and beer!

Cheers!

Thanks!

Metal shaping is fun, i cant wait for the next one!

Realy? how cool! how did you insert the needle? hole from left to rigt or front to rear?

beer helps alot Very Happy

sanded down the sliding stones to produce 0.10mm play between the stones and the driveshaft.

i dont´have any play bevore, they get nearly stuck in there.

also found a problem in the reduction boxes.
when i assembled the breaking plate the level and the paint in the hole pushed back that bolt that center the adjustment block.

the bolt hits the driveshaft!

i had luck to see that, if that bolt damaged the bearing or the sping ring you get some big troubles there...

i also done some re adjustment of the spring plates.

so slowly the back growing togeter again

Completed the rear axle, a little less space to the rubbers:

Cut the rear wheel arches to get some space for bigger tires:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Some little Problems with the engine projekt, the new std size camshaft won´t turn with the new std size silver line bearings, so the machineshop grind me off the camshaft.
now the first bearing is to long so the camshaft gets stuck, so the bearing needs a light sanding in the long direction.

Finally back on the wheels:

Yes, the stones was to big, so the drifeshafts was to tight.
i saanded down the stones to generate 0.10 space there.

The second fail were the bolts that hold the braking plate, they moved inside and damaged the bearing.

Some "tiny" work yesterday,

repaired and installed the sunvisors, coathooks, handle.
