The Ghia Forum has seen quite a few of these over the years, one owner insisting he had a rare "transition" model. The truth is when the cars had a front end accident the dealer repair shop gave them a nice new replacement panel. The original owners were delighted with their "upgrade".
More drivel if you have time to waste :

It is a solid Ghia. Body is really fantastic as far as damage goes. Runs and drives nice. But like some stories in our lives, overpaid, lost the storage and now bouncing around between spots. Just trying to figure out how much money hemorrhaging it will take to stop the loss. Gotta learn to shop with my brain and not my heart. |

That’s a super nice car. If it’s as dry and unhit as you describe it’s well worth the price. If someone put a correct interior they’d still be way ahead than if they bought a full project for half what you are asking. And they still wouldn’t have an original metal car. Best of luck with it. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Thank you! I appreciate those kind words about the car. A little bit of interior work and you have a really nice car. That is all I would really do to it. |

That’s why I can’t have it.
I’d start cleaning things and the next thing I’d know, the body would be coming off the pan.
It’s awesome to see a true survivor. _________________ Volkswagen!
