You guys had your own little Huck Fest there huh?
Some of those Rangers look a lot like my son's. Part names like Camburg and Bilstein and BFG. With Fiberglass fenders...
But then, he is a Baja 1000 Class 5/16 champion. So he's not the "other guy". LOL
So pre-runners for fun.
And pre-runners for work.
My little ol' 58 has pre-run many offroad race courses.
I think you had your QRP red RGB Baja along on a SoCal Bajas outing at Last Chance/Dove Springs/Jawbone when I led part of the time in my Toyota prerunner because my Baja was getting put back together from the re-build. Like 2009. _________________ Richard

Found a lotta good stuff at the vw show this weekend.
A grand total of 180.00 for all of it.
Heavy duty long axles.
Roll bar main hoop.
Old school trans mount.
Set of 5 point harnesses
And some freshly beefed up spindles

I've found old real leather belts to be extremely useful if you need more squish on the tans brace My GF uses E6000 glue with her crafts at first I thought it was a joke that stuff is the real deal been 3 years that glue and belt is doing its job hasn't moved. |

Good score on the axles. I can't find any long axles in Nor Cal.
Edit: after posting this I cruised the classified section and found 3 long axles, local, and picked them up for a good price. |

Front end has been on hold, busy with an motor swap.
The one I had in it was running awesome but was seeping oil everywhere and I just got sick of it,. Popped in a floor sweeper 1914cc and putting miles on it.
So far so good.
Anyway I have the front end pretty much ready for the weekend I commit to taking it all apart.
Decided that black was just to boring so I opted for grey.
I think this will look a lot better. WYT ?
Also have a different idea on the lower beam supports, I never liked those typical clamp on ones that everyone sells. Never liked how they hang bellow the beam.

Test fit the swap meet roll bar and started cutting off the parts I won't be needing, and then this happened. . . . LOL
Oh man I'll just continue this on a not so windy day.
Good thing I keep the hose handy just in case. |

Been making progress over the last few days.
Trying to make it as simple as possible so that means I'm gonna over complicate it. LOL
I didn't need or like the lower section of the bar and after a test fit it was a little low and could use another inch to get closer to the roof.
Chopped off 9" inches and gonna sleeve in 10"
Lucky for me I Had plenty of leftover 2" and 1-3/4" material from the beam job.
Been scaping the pan off and on.

I like the grey front end because the bugeye nose will show off the details of the suspension.
Bet you got stunned when that grass kept spreading Good move on the hose. Freaky |
It wasn't the first time I lit up the grass, LOL but that day it wasn't even hot outside.
The other 2 times it was easily over 100 out.
And yes I think the grey kinda softens up the look. |

Busy last few days, everything fully welded.
Now I can deal with other stuff while waiting for the paint to dry.
I'll give it a few days before installing it.
Meanwhile I gotta address the floor pan.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!! |

Been working on patching up the passenger side pan, drivers side is still pretty solid so I lucked out there.
I just made the best of what I had on hand, it ain't pretty but it's solid as a rock now.

Used some 1x1 angle iron to stiff up the flimsy section of the pan and to make a more solid place for the battery, patched up the holes where the heater tubes used to be
I know my welds aren't the best so . . . It is what it is. |

Last section of the pan that needed cleaning, that's it far as the pan is concerned.
I decided I don't wanna spend my life scraping and cleaning this thing.
Some rust converter, then a coat of paint and then get this stupid thing back together.
I still have a trans to swap and R&R the front suspension I finished over a month ago. UGH
