Hi team, has anyone fitted Alfa Romeo 147 front seats into a Vanagon or T3/T25 Single cab or Doka, WITHOUT removing the original VW seat tracks on the truck? (And without chopping up a pair of VW seat bases).
I want to be able to put the original bench seat and driver's seat back into the single cab truck, if I get sick of the Alfa seats.
Cheers Brett

Maybe look at seat bases for Recaros that GoWesty sells ? They are bolt in, easy and fast.
You'll spend more time cleaning under the seat area than actual bolting in the base.
Never heard of any alfa parts going into a Vanagon. Why alfa seats ? Happen to own a set ?
It's be cool to do I spose, you'd be the only guy on your block for sure.

I never heard of them, so I looked it up.
People find them high in the Eurovan, so I doubt it's gonna fit ok in the Vanagon.

And that's not even mentionning track uncompatibility.

The 156 are apparently lower, but again, seat base and tracks are incompatible, so any adapter you make will bring them higher.

Yes, Recaros would be easier but hard to get (not impossible) here in New Zealand.
I have a pair of Alfa seats (I'm now not sure what model they came out of, they may have been out of a 156, I don't know).
I have had them stashed away for about five years, originally thought about putting them in a 1982 Westy I owned at the time but gave up on that idea due to height issues caused by the swivel seats.
At least in the T3 single cab, there are no swivels!
I will have to offer them up and see if I can make them happen.

Get these tracks, they adjust unlike some other providers.

You can probably adapt any seat made to fit these brackets.

Swivel seats in a single cab ?!? 🤔

Yeah I just checked and Recaros are really expensive now even used ones...I guess I got lucky...importing used from Japan to U.S.
