The other day I drove to the gas station fill up and won't start. It always restarts after sitting about 10-15 minutes but never sooner. It seems like it's flooded / injectors are leaking? Which injectors are available / best upgrade?

If this were a WBX it would be the classic symptom of a failed Temp II sensor.
Do air-cooleds have a sensor that tells the ECU whether the engine is cold or hot? |

To clarify, it won't fire or it won't crank?
Regardless, if you think your injectors are leaking, send them out to be cleaned for minimal cost. _________________ 84 Westy w/ 2.1 MV |

| Ground out the wire running to your TSII sensor and see how that affects hot starting. You could also disconnect the wiring plug from your cold start valve. |

These sound like temporary solutions to get the van back up an running but not long term solutions to fix the issue at hand. _________________ 83 Air-cooled 2.0 Tin Top |

I read them as good diagnostics that may tell you specifically what has failed. |

Yep quick and easy diagnostics. No looking in the manual for wiring diagrams and specs, or even pulling out the VOM at all. |

We push started our 1980 2.0 aircooled around the country several times before finally installing a hard start relay - solved the problem for us. Lots of fond road trip memories though |

Grounding temp sensor didn't work. _________________ 83 Air-cooled 2.0 Tin Top |

Is it Sender or Sensor? I'm not finding a lot of information for either for air cooled models. _________________ 83 Air-cooled 2.0 Tin Top |

Good, its a process of elimination. Try disconnecting the CVS and see what that does. You could also put a pressure gauge on your fuel rail and see if you are getting excessive leak down after you shut your engine off. |

does your distributor have points? if not, it will have a Hall Sender which has a 3 pin connector attached to the dizzy. since you are in Cali, i would imagine you have a dizzy with a Hall Sender. _________________ 1991 Vanagon GL Camper
