My injectors look like the ones on the bottom. I bought new GW billet rails, but don't know how to renew the hose which attaches directly to the injector which are looking shabby. Injectors are good, and I'm getting >20 MPG and so don't want to replace. Is this possible, or do I need to get new ones?

Here is a video by mrinjector on removing the hose at the injector.
(Mrinjector is who I send my injectors to fir service)

I've got to admit I fail to fully comprehend how the metal dusc acts as a clamp however....... 🤷‍♂️

the injector barbs have a very steep profile on the back side of the barb ramp so the hose end would have to flare out as it is pulled off... the disc keeps the end of the hose from flaring out and therefore locks it in. i added a constant tension, constant compression spring clamp next to that hose too.

Thanks, Dave and Dan. I watched the video which then morphed into another of about 8 mins showing how to clean the injectors. Since I'm getting really good mileage, I'm reluctant to mess with the insides, but I just might. Cleaning the screen seems like a really good thing to do as well as getting rid of any crud that may have accumulated on the inside.

Putting the hose back on wasn't really covered, but I'm guessing with some lube and pushing like hell, it will go back on. Since it's a DD and I have no spares, it's a little scary, but what could possibly go wrong?

the biggest thing that can go wrong is slicing your hand open when cutting the hose!!!

Oh, good. So with an old piece of sail cloth wrapped around my hand, the car will still be drivable.

I would not reuse the metal discs as they are only effective if the OD and flexibility/compression of the hose is the same as what the discs were designed to clamp. Instead, I would toss the discs and add clamps at the injector barbs.

Duncan, if you should have need, I have a spare set of serviced injectors I can over night to you.

this is a good point. you can see the discs in my above photo but i clamped them too. i remember that the 5/16" hose didn't go into the discs in a very satisfying way so yeah, toss them, get the hose a mm on further, and clamp it.

Sweat not, I've seen an injector that was missing it since factory.
Never leaked.... The cup prevents the hose from expanding which would lead to it sliding off.
