Does anyone know where I can find #18, #8, #16 on this schematic? I got it from Ratwell. I know it sounds stupid but what is it called? motor mount? transmission mount? While I have the engine out I want to change all the mounting rubber but can't find this stuff at the online retailers.

WOW! Scott that was fast. I just sent you an email to your shop! My mounts are no torn or anything I thought since everything was out... I guess if they're NLA I'll use what I've got.
thanks _________________ '74 Super |

I am not sure which number it is on the schematic but, what size is the engine to transmission bolt on the top, opposite of the alternator? The other day I noticed I am missing it.

Ragster, I mean the driver side. By 'alternator' I meant starter. Guess I should have just said driver side in the first place. Thanks for the help.

So #10 and #9 are for an automatic, right? And that part you have there vw76westy is for the manual? I have what looks like #9 on my auto, but I'm missing #10(and #3). My mechanic described that U shaped thing when I asked him what part I was missing, but I think he didn't know what he was talking about. Argh. I wonder if #10 is the same on a Vanagon, that would help my search out a lot. _________________ '77 Bus auto EFI(stock)

I got #18 new (transmission carrier bushing) from West Coast Meric. 78 auto. Old pair were split and hard as rock. The heat and dry air in Phoenix great for metal, but the dry rot or the rubber getting hard big problem. My m/c's get the garage, and the bus gets the sun. O'well! |

Same here. My # 18's are good. Its just that the ones in the pics are not.
Does # 16 act as a bumper for up and down transmission movement or does it serve as a bumper for when the transmission shifts front to back? _________________ Matthew 6:19-21 |

Up and down height is set with the slotted holes in # 12. So # 16 would stop any significant movement forward and back. My experience is that once everything is tightened back up, there isn't lot of movement though.
See if anyone else chimes in. |

Im trying to find some material to make # 16. I was going to use a rubber roller for a boat trailer. Unless anyone else had made one with different material?? _________________ Matthew 6:19-21 |

Figured I'd just add to this rather the make a new topic. I don't have a transmission mount at all and don't know which mount I need in the schematic:
http://bustedbus.com/groot/w/OtherAssets2/t204600.gif
(I'm guessing #15, #16, #25 & #24?)
'75 bus, 6 rib manual trans. Here are some pictures of what I have (Yes I replaced the coupler bushing already. That's how I noticed the missing mount)

Dredged up because of the schematic on first post-
Item 24- bolt - anyone know size and length? I am missing one.
Also FYI with a missing bolt and the other one loose it affects shifting such that you will start grinding about every gear... and you may start thinking the tranny or shifter is fubar'd _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?
