| Finally. It's been a long slog. As some here know, I hated this car, but much like a person who has been diagnosed with a fatal illness, I have learned to accept it, and deal with my fate. I still need to go through the brakes, put the new shocks on, and a new top. My wife, bless her, did a fantastic job on the interior carpet and recovered seats. She has more patience than me. My VW friend told me that it's the best running motor he's ever heard, and that's something coming from him. Even the back up lights and fuel guage work, which I understand is somewhat of a rarity. The car is put away now for the winter, and work will commence in the spring and summer. I don't think I would have ever gotten this far without the help of my friend and the people of the Samba, and of course my doctor supplied tranquilizers. Well, have a happy Christmas if that's what you believe in, and many thanks. See you in the summer. |
