Hi;

In the photo you can see two crank timing gear spacers, 4mm and 3mm thick......they both do the same job?

Use the thicker one if you plan on turning more RPM then stock.
VW used the thinner one on later engines, cheaper? Less weight?

If you plan on spinning your engine you should be leaving both those spacers in the spares bin and using a solid "racer spacer"
