|

My Googlefu is letting me down today. Need to work out the correct search term to find a small push-to-make switch that is totally waterproof (the connectors/wires on the back can be immersed).
The only ones I've found so far are motorbike switches that are waterproof on the switch side, but not the rear, or really expensive switches designed for submersible ROVs.
I fitted one of the on-dash washer bottles with the integral pump years ago and have never liked having to have the external switch on a bracket. I want to put a small push switch in the lid of the bottle. That will mean that the rear of the switch will get wet, so i need a switch that's totally sealed, but don't want to spend the earth.
Submersible switch, waterproof switch, total immersion switch and similar all bring up results that don't meet my need.
Any ideas what I should try searching for?

cant' you use this and slap extra silicon sealant on it? it's just got to be splash proof rather than submersible...https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwi1u...amp;adurl= _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

I want to see a pic of where it's going, there's gotta be a way to adapt or seal up something. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

###Edit - Looks like a company called FILN make something that might work. The ones I've found are stainless, so a bit modern looking, but it looks like they even do a switch label that has a screenwash icon. Now just need to find them in the UK...

The rear is potted, so no chance of water getting at the connections. ('Potted' was the keyword that worked.)
This is the type of bottle. I'm thinking of drilling the lid and fitting the switch through it, then running the wires out of the top of the bottle with grommets to prevent leakage.

I’ve been with sketchy men and women in the desert but never resorted to rats, though. Good on you for innovation. _________________ 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🍊 🍊 🍊 |
