Finally had the chance to see what the little car looks like with a ragtop.

Glad it is only a reflection - prefer the hardtop.

That is why someone invented sunscreen! So you can drive in your Ragtop and not get burned!

Another few weeks for the body. I told Dan to make me a non priority, as it is a hobby and I need to get the pan reassembled. I do not have the room for both assemblies to be in my tiny garage and not able to move them around freely. So, going to focus in on the pan. Get that rolling, then the body should show up. Then body work. Seat should show up. Send the body to paint and while it is being painted, cover the seats!

It’s a loose plan, but it is a plan! Let’s see what happens to my plan!

Ive used shade cloth for the best of both worlds. A single layer gives decent shade and the wind goes right through it at speed. Open sunroof, clamp shade cloth in place, enjoy gazebo shade as you cruise around town!

Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo mate these are words that must never be uttered anywhere near a panel beater never ever never!

Most body men I have met are calender challenged.

Hope I'm wrong this time.

Agreed, when there is no history in place. But, Dan and I have a decent history. I have no worries. Between the last 3 Bugs that he blasted panels for and several steel gates he has blasted and powered, ….. well, I trust him. He knows I have more in the queue than just a Bug.

So, cross your fingers!

Dissenting voice: I had a ragtop for 13 years and would not have another one. It just didn't serve a purpose. This is just my opinion, no need to get worked up about it.

I think they work best when not too sunny and bright out. Have noticed them in a lot of UK vehicles. We have a glass slider with an internal cover in our Toyota that has been opened maybe three times since 2008. (We tend to keep our cars for a long time)

I do respect those that love them though.

I will have to side with the sunroof crowd. My first car was a '57 ragtop and I think every female that rode in that car had to sit up on the back of the seat and wave to everyone out of that roof. You might imagine what that can do to a teenager's ego. Shocked

It may not be too late for you! Last I heard there are still a few females living in Canada! And it's not just teenagers that like our egos stroked. Wink
