Eurovan 2002 SWB/Weekender

Someone cracked the mirror casement on the driver's side and I am trying to repair myself. I need, however, to buy a part but I don't know the name of it.

It is a bolt/pin that attaches to a spring that secures the mirror to the car plate. (If I am using the right names - who knows.)

See some photos attached. Any sleuthing help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you highlight where in the mirror housing this part comes from? (Or describe it based on this photo) This might help locating it on the parts diagrams...

Or is the pin/bolt part of the glass itself?

There are two pins. They attach/hook behind the electric panel to springs and then travel through the casement into the door panel.

They form a kinda both (1) hinge keeping the casing locked into the door (2) but also allowing the mirror to be pushed into the van to avoid what happened to me.

here is a video where these pins are pulled through the casing -

Thanks for responding I appreciate it!!!

Chances are you'll need to find a used mirror assembly.

7D185750 is the rear view mirror housing part# (left, left hand drive) - "for rear view mirror, electrically operated and heated."

The components of the mirror housing looked to be a single part.

However, the parts page also mentions this ...

1E 701858595
ball pin
no replacement part / M3X15

Hard to tell if that ball pin is what you are dealing with. I think Dean is right - a full side mirror housing might be your best option.

I have a silver right side mirror assembly that the adjustment motor drive is no longer working on. I would take $50 for the complete assembly plus shipping if you are unable to find the part you need. Located in Austin, TX.

Depending on how tight the fit of this is, you might be able to fix it by using hot staples or by epoxying a metal sleeve over the break.
