I’d like to see original Sales Receipts / Invoices for a new (vintage) VW.

It’s interesting seeing the price, the Dealership details, the part-exchanged car, the extras, the salesman’s name…
Maybe you even have the Dealership’s covering letter?

Here is some documentation that came with our 1970 yukon yellow tourist delivery beetle. Car was picked up in Luxemburg on 9/10/1970. Service receipts and more are in my gallery.

Here is Tourist Delivery paperwork for a '67 SO42 that Scott Stothers posted in the gallery 20+ years ago. It even has the Westy Fabrik Nr. on it. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the bus but maybe Scott aka Kintail has it?

I bought a brand-new Sport Bug in 1973. Here's the invoice:

I only have one mediocre picture of the actual car, alas. I don't know what happened to all the others I took back in the day.

It was, sadly, a lemon. It spent more time in the dealership garage than at my apartment. I sold it two years later and replaced it with a dead-reliable 1962 Karmann Ghia.

The Volkswagen Tourist Delivery Program truly captivates me. Imagine: you'd fly to Europe, pick up your very own VW bus, explore several countries, and then Volkswagen would ship it right back to the States. That kind of adventure was absolutely revolutionary, particularly in the 1960s when air travel was largely out of reach for the average middle-class family.

Here are a couple of buses that participated in the Tourist Delivery program along with their paperwork:
