Good morning guys
I just thought I'd add some photos of my 2013 Beetle Fender Edition that I've owned since December 2023, I'm not expecting many to like it so much but I'm really enjoying the car.
My story, I've loved air-cooled VW's since I was in high school. My dad bought a 76 bay window Devon conversion camper we found dumped by an old railway and I was hooked. I begged my dad to buy me a Volksworld magazine at the time and I found myself drawing cal look Beetles in school. Anyway Beetles have been a life time thing for me, I've owned a 72 1300 and a 66 1200 on Empis and then quite a few watercooled VW's & Audis.
Fast forward a few years and life has just got in the way, I've had loads of water cooled VW's and co run local clubs etc but I've always wanted another Beetle. It was time to move my Audi A4 on at the time but I needed something for work that would be cheap to run and can handle the mile plus I wanted something a little different so I found myself looking at 2012 + Beetles, the Fender Edition wasn't in my price range but I managed to find a little more money and ended up buying one. This ones really been looked after well, it has a few scratched and dings but I'm working my way around it. I may look at lowering it a little when money allows. Anyway I just thought I's add a thread up and I can appreciate its not everyone's taste as they are noting on an original bug but they are loads of fun and stand out on todays bland and boring car choices!
A bit of info on the Fender Edition
Limited to 2500 Sold worldwide 2013 only, unique dash and seats, full Fender audio package with a sub in the boot, Zenon head lights, rear window tints, VW Disc alloys with centre chrome caps. Fender badges up front and Beetle on the tailgate. In some countries they came with TSI engines and even 1.2's, some came with spoilers some didn't, some had full reverse sensors but some other countries they didn't. I have a Fender group on Instagram so its fun learning about these cars worldwide.

I know nothing about this car but it looks super clean and that dashboard upgrade looks awesome.
TSI or a 1.2L engine:
Which engine do you have and what's the horsepower? |
Thanks Everett.
Mine has a 2.0TDi 110BHP _________________ Fender Bug |

Nice looking New Beetle! I haven't heard of the Fender Edition. Is it only sold in Europe? _________________ *******************************

Hi there, Volkswagen made 2500 and were all sold world wide. There's quite a lot in Japan, South America, the states etc but they were all built at the Mexican plant.
Some come with boot spoilers some didn't. I run an an Instagram page for these cars and I know its not an interesting vintage Volkswagen but still I feel they are special in there own right. _________________ Fender Bug |

Thanks for the info. I mentioned the Fender edition to my friend in Japan and he said he was familiar with it and sent me a couple pictures. I lived in the Greater Tokyo area from 1995 until 2007 and get back regularly but have never noticed a Fender Edition. I'll keep my eyes open.
Saw this Cabrio the other day on my way to work in Vancouver. Not a Fender but pretty sharp looking.

Me either! However, my 18 year old daughter wants a VW Bug Convertible and I'll have less maintenance to do if we buy a modern Beetle versus an aircooled classic from the late 60s or 70s. _________________ *******************************
