Hi all,
Can someone please forward a picture of the fusebox area under the spare wheel area. Are there two fuseboxes in this area, next to each other?

Thanks for you help Dave

There is only one fuse box up front. It's a 6 location fuse box.

Hi Splitjunkie ,
Thank you for the pictures. I'm still a bit confused as a 52 wiring diagram shows another 3 fusebox next to the six fusebox. Where should this be located? Car manufacture is Feb 1952 if this helps.

I appreciate the help Dave

Hello Dave,
the part "M4" you are probably referring is no fuse box, it´s the connector for three wires, two red-black ones for the brake light and the yellow-black for the horn. Have a look on the pics. Compare the symbols for the 3 fuse box in engine compartment "L 3"and the 3-connector beside the front fuse box "M 4". They are different.

As others have said, M6 is the three position screw terminal block that you can partially see under part of the wiring harness in the pictures I posted.

I'm also putting wiring for my split right now and wonder why there is connector "M2", in-line from ignition switch to coil? Why not connect the wire direct to the switch?

I think it is there to give a spot for adding a radio or other accessory that needs to have switched 6 volts. Safer than having people messing around with screw terminals on the back of the ignition switch. Just a guess, but makes sense to me.

Yes, that makes sense. I can't find the M2 connector on my 48 instruction book, maybe added later. The schema is also rather messy there.

that's it near the bottom of this photo, they usually come in a strip and you cut off how many you want.

This is a modern version. Certainly not exact, but gives you a pretty good idea how they look.
