When were the first VWs sold in Portugal? A good friend of mine recently unearthed a bunch of early VW literature from Portugal (mainly early 50s brochures in Portuguese). Amongst his find was a December 1949 instruction manual with a Lisbon dealer stamp on the inside cover (Guérin Lda.) I wonder if this was supplied with one of the earliest Portuguese cars?

Guerin started importing vws in 1950 according to this website - https://restosdecoleccao.blogspot.com/2014/06/guerin-lda.html
their showroom in Praça dos Restauradores, lisbon
their extensive workshop facilities were at rua dom luis I as stamped on the handbook. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

That’s a great link, thank you.
I think the next edition of the instruction manual was February 50, which essentially looked the same as the Dec 49 manual. So I guess the car this manual shipped with, was a Dec 49-Feb 50 car, probably one of the first to be supplied by VW in Portugal.
There was no Portuguese version of this manual this early on (as far as I’m aware), so they shipped the dual language German/English version. _________________ 1947 Beetle
