Got this email a few days ago, been waiting to see if anything might show up here but nothing yet, so here goes.

Met Bill once when we rented a bus for a week in 2010 or so…had a great experience. Super nice guy, super setup & service, just a class act all around.

This email came to me just before the weekend & there you have it, all the news is right there…

FYI: The “reply” button creates a draft email, addressed to “[email protected]” , Cc’d to “[email protected]” … subject: “End of an Era Sale”… I guess to ask questions or just drop a line. No other info provided.

Wish I was closer, I’d stop by to chat & offer my wishes to Bill & Diane… they deserve only the best.

- Dave

PS: Bill was also a bit of a star in “The Bus Movie”…another cool piece of VW history! Cool

That’s tragic news!

We hung with Bill three years of Buses by the Bridge, originally to sign our Bus Movie DVD that played a huge part in our buying a van.

Genuine guy, definition of cool, hate to read this!

I hope someone buys it all and keeps it going, parting it all out would suck.

It’s Bills fault……….. that I have a 76 Westfalia, 85 Westfalia, 74 standard beetle, and had a another 76 Westfalia and 72 Campmobile.

15 years ago Xatie rented Eddie the Bay Window Westfalia for our anniversary. I had no idea. She kept it a surprise. Two days into our road trip we were hunting down buses on the Samba, Ebay, and Craigslist. We ran that bus down to San Diego and up to Monterey and all points in between. A month later we bought a 72 Campmobile. And the adventures continued.

Take care Bill and thanks for a special anniversary experience.
