Yes they are the same distance apart. If you just making a J type of block to attach reduction box to spring plate, you will actually need to cut off end of spring plate where it would slip around Bug axle tube.
Find the original Baja Prepping VW Sedans & Dune Buggies by Bob Waar. My copy was printed in 1970.
The book has pictures of what you want to do. _________________ Joseph

or just go ahead and build a 4 link for it so you can eliminate the anti- squat now vs. later _________________ "how am i supposed to torque the rear wheel nut to 250 ft lbs??? " - clonebug
An interesting thing happens in forums where everyone starts parroting the same thing and "common knowledge" takes over.

Don't forget to flip the ring gear in transaxle.... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns"

I have a rebuild 1964 B&D transmission (MI) that has never been installed. I'm going to take the tranny and the RGB parts to them and have them inspect and assemble everything. I think I need a different nose cone to fit the 64 in my 57 as well.
Thanks for all the help.
Thanks,
Bill |
