What does the Euro headlight lookmlike? How is it adjusted. The beetle versions had 3 screws on the rim and the lens and reflector were attached to the rim. But I only see one screw on euro KG rim. So wondering how it works.

the chrome ring is only a cover ring. adjustment ist under these ring. so if you have to adjust your karmann ghia headlight you must remounting this chrom ring.

So if ihave to go to the vehicle control for the first time here in Europe I'll have to replace my sealed beams for European ones?
What exactly willI have to purchase then?

Peruzzi have the reproduction Euro lights

These are very good, but on occasion you can get the original Hella from the specialists like Nuffer and so on. There's the matching chrome ring as well. The rubber seal is the same for both variants.
I'm not sure if you have to make changes to register in Europe with a car having US version sealed beams given it is now a vintage car. you should ask at your local inspection station or administration.

For completeness, I am attaching the parts diagram for the headlight.

There seem to be 3 variants
1. Euro style - which was used up to when - for the entire duration?
2. US sealed beam style 1 - used up to ~May 64
3. US sealed beam style 2 - used from May 64.

Did Euro cars ever come with style #3? I suspect my 65 Euro KG would have come with #1. But these don't seem avail anymore with RHD/LHT lenses and reflectors. So, I've gone with sealed beam type set up.
