Hi , been out of this hobby many years unfortunately. I was at a recent swap, meet and saw a poster board of three Carma‘s all sold together. Cars were not at the location. But the pictures look good and I took a gamble. Two coops and one convertible. All been sitting for 30+ years two of them, including the convertible were inside in a dry location in Oregon. I have recently made 100 mile trip and picked up two of the three and just now starting to gather all the parts needed for the convertible. I am very excited to say that most of the hard to find parts are here that convertible only stuff for the most part is there too. Just thought I’d show some pictures of my new project.

Learning that there some real differences between coupes and the verts .
Interior mainly . This still has its locking trunk pulley, so thankful

Congratulations on the find! I can't see too much from those photos but it looks pretty solid and as you say, there are quite a few convertible only bits present there. If all the small parts are present and usable that will cut the cost of the project hugely. Good luck and keep us posted!

I've quoted from your email.
Quote:
Hi, I have a 63 ghia vert.
The top frame came with the car, the top shield part was bent. Seller threw in another 2nd shield part. But it does not have the same screw spots as the one on my frame.
I’d like to know if it’ll work.
Also maybe what’s the second one from?
Is this frame correct for my 63 vert . ?

Personally I have no experience of Ghia Convertibles so this thread you have already started is the best place to ask your questions on your restoration.

Post as many pictures you can to best illustrate the more complex questions. Believe me, this is the best place on The Internet to ask your questions. There're many convertible restorers here to answer your questions.

If you've not yet discovered this workshop manual in The Samba Archive, you will find it essential reading: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/ghia_top_assembly/A-83A_Ghia_Top_Assembly.pdf

You might like to look through the "66 restoration I did. The roof would be very similar to yours. The work on the roof starts at about page 8.

There's more on the last page the road trip trip thread, the travel log that turned out to be something else Confused

As John put it... ask plenty of questions here and our collective knowledge will be shared.
