I inherited this project and I am to the point of fitting the doors.... and they hit all along the bottom on the new heater channel. I don't want to cut the heater channel out so if you have ideas, thoughts or fixes please help.

Could be an illusion but looks like that door got swung open without the stop attached, outer skin is bent in at the hinge top and bottom. |

I don't believe it is bent.... I just went and checked. But I am wondering if the way I have the body supported on jack stands could lead to the problem. I have it on stands under the crossmember that's under the seats and from the bottom of the trunk in the front.. Any thoughts?? |

Is the body bolted to the floor pan or is it loose? |

It isn't bolted to the floor yet... and I put a floor jack under the heater channel/stiffener rail just little behind the hinges and it does shut now. The rear gap is a little wonky but I think I can fix that Ince it gets mated to the floor with shims. |

Get it bolted to the floor pan and then set the door gap, there really are no shims, there two rubber washers (of a sort) for the rear body to shock tower mating. Don't forget the pan gasket. |
