I have a short shaft swing axle on my 1966 Squareback. At rest and driving forward the car has a bit of rear negative camber. Whenever I reverse the car I get positive camber. I have dialed in more toe in thinking it might be the issue but it still happens. Do I need to dial in some toe out?

Any suggestions are greatly received.

Thanks.

Swing axle cars like a little toe-out at the rear anyway. It makes them more stable on undulating corners.

That's just the way it was designed. It happens on stock height, raised (off road) or lowered. It's also why Ralph Nader killed the Corvair due to the rear of that car doing the same thing. VW ended up going to IRS to help solve this problem, as did Porsche and eventually GM did with the last years of the Corvair.

I had read that, reading what Bob said, I think I'll dial in some toe out and forget about it. I'll just make sure don't reverse when I park up Very Happy

Cheers Bob. That makes a lot of sense.
