Does the long section of the shift rod have any bend to it, or is it basically straight?
I have seen comparisons here showing aftermarket rods with unwanted bends causing issues per the authors. |

Mine had a slight curve, but I straightened it.
Worked OK before (pic below). Works OK since I straightened it.

Some guesses were made that the bend is for Brazilian buses and so makes this part universal, but that's thesamba talk. No-one seems to know why they are all made that way now. Also unclear (to me) whether there are many manufacturers or just the one and everyone sells it.
MOST people have no issues using them; some do. If there are several manufacturers that could be the cause. As per Andy's example, try it as-is and see if it works. Or straighten it to not have it be a variable. Let us know either way. _________________ Craig K
