Dear Vanagon detectives,

What is this connection/port on my engine? (circled in red box on image)

It has a white smaller size wire attached to it, 3 pins male, and snakes back into the engine that I can't see where it goes. Attempted search on forums and Bentley but not luck.

It is nothing at this point- seriously.
Search for mystery plug to know what it was at one time.

It's a port for reading off with a tool, engine running from the flywheel.
Not used anymore, nobody has the tool anyway.

It’s time to learn to use the FAQ section in the forums. For the most part part 99% of a Vanagon has been discussed. Plus you get the benefit of how to either use it or remove it.
