Movie "Zero to Sixty" (1978)-
2 Squarebacks parked, YouTube newsreel video "KTLA News Reducing pollution in Los Angeles" (1973).
German public service program "Der 7. Sinn: Mehr Sicherheit wird Pflicht, part 3/3" (1976; translated The 7th sense: More safety becomes mandatory). Small red 4-door on the left is a Renault 4. |

German TV show "Nonstop Nonsens Didi als Taxifahrer" (1978), translated Didi as taxi driver. German funny man played by Dieter Hallervorden drives a Mercedes-Benz taxi in this episode. He approaches a '66 Squareback police car that's parked along the side of the road. The 2nd officer is waving the red "STOP" wand.
Instead of stopping, Didi drives past so that the officer runs to get into the car ("B" first letter of license plate is Berlin)-
which overtakes the taxi, waving the wand to signal it to stop.
Didi passes the taxi, then stops just beyond a railroad crossing so that the pursuing S'back is trapped by the lowering gates-
Both policemen see the approaching train, flee the S'back, which is flattened by the train.
Is that an ivory "smoothie" 5-lug wheel under the front right fender next to the 4-bolt brake disc? |

From YouTube video "Changeover to RHD traffic Sweden Sept 3 1967"-
I could not clearly determine the body style, either Fastback or Notchback; but likely a Notch-

A lot of these parts dont look right. Looks like some Type 3 stuff, but not all. That disc looks to big. The Polizi hood looks T3, maybe the door and front right fender. But the rest looks like cleverly painted shit junk parts smashed up. A smarter way to do it rather than smashing a perfectly good 66 Square.

Blue '66 Squareback, movie "Angels die hard" (1970)
Dark green or dark blue early Fastback, Bosch training film "Jetronic" from the late 1960's. S license plate is for the city of Stuttgart, where Bosch is based. Bonus: 2 Splittie buses in background in the first shot.
Same Fastback following a SAAB 99. The white Volvo P1800 Coupe ahead of the Fasty is the same one as next to it in the upper photo. |

Does this count? What I've seen of the film is horrible.

^ Sure, though it has already mentioned twice- in 2005 per the search feature- though without a photo of the car. |

Ya, they're all sitting on it. The movie itself wasn't bad. In the old days it would be called a "B" flick. Definitely low budget. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

From 2012:
The above link seems to no longer be active. But here's my shot of a late Squareback; likely the same car from the 1971 movie:
Red 1500 S Notchback with factory 2-toned ivory roof, movie "This time tomorrow" (1966).
Blue early Notchback, TV movie "Columbo" episode "A friend in deed" season 3, ep. 8 (1974). |

Purple Rain (1984 - https://vimeo.com/393075464) at 57:15 is a tracking shot of Prince on his 1981 Honda CM400A Hondamatic motorcycle where you can see one tan bus, a red Squareback, and then a yellow bus. This was shot in LA, at 922 Irolo Street. I can't tell from this screenshot but maybe the front blinkers are larger, from a later T3?

So many of us have watched the Clint Eastwood movie "Magnum Force" (1973) least once; did you notice the blue late Squareback parked? It's in the scene where one of the San Francisco detective teams are on a stake-out to view one of the hit men in a high apartment building. The motorcycle patrolman is about to get hit by a car.
Red Squareback parked in background, movie "FM" (1978). The movie's main character is rushing to the radio station studio in his yellow Porsche 356C Cabrio in right background.
Ivory Squareback in far lane, movie "Zuma Beach" (1978). The S'back is heading northwest on Pacific Coast Highway (US Rt 1) in southern California heading towards Point Dume just west of Malibu. |

Green Notchback driving by a parked ivory Squareback, movie "Berlin Affair" (1970).
Early Fastback heading southbound on US Rt 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) in Malibu, California in movie "Bimbos must die" (1972). Main characters are underway in the Mustang in the foreground.
Blue early Squareback in background, movie "Bullitt" (1968). Detective Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) is outside the hospital where the assassin for his crime-protected witness just made a 2nd kill attempt, but escaped. |

Late '60's ivory Notchback parked, British TV comedy program "Bless this house"- episode "The Move" (1972).
Now it's parked facing the other way-

Ivory Type 3 (Notchback?), YouTube video documentary "1960s Europe Motorway driving".
Blue Notchback, YouTube video documentary "1970s driving the Los Angeles freeway".
Orange late Fastback with what appear to be VW of America accessory 5-spoke wheel covers, TV show "Starsky and Hutch" season 1 (1975). Their iconic red Ford Torino is coming up behind it. |
