The 55-60 shafts are slightly longer and have splines on the smooth shaft so the bases would grip
The bases only have set screw unlike later type ovals shared with a lower clamp and set screw.

I have 2 safari NOS shaft pivots left over from boxes of 5 they came in. Looking to match up a pair early 55-60 with longer shaft tips. The other is 61-64 with short shaft tip. Let me know if you have any single or pairs of safari pivots.
