'64-'67 snap hole door panels with pockets Price: $265/pair
|
The pockets are great for storing your stuff!
In Jan 2012 I put these in my green September 65 kombi. I added pics taken October 2020. They have some scuffs, but still look great over eight and a half years and 53,500 miles later. This is a bus that is not garaged. I did not wipe the panel down for the later pic, some of it is dirt that just wipes off.
The panels come pre-painted grey and come with the pockets already attached to the door panels.
As of Jan 2020 they come with a vapour barrier already installed.
They require absolutely no modifications to your doors and snap right in using your factory style clips.
Clips are not included, but are available.
See link for # clips needed, 38 or 42:

Door panel pockets came stock in all busses up to April 1961. They are a handy feature and are extremely useful for carrying registration, maps, log book, your church key, or your cell phone. For years, our customers have been installing them in busses buildt through December 1963 as an upgrade. In 1964, VW changed the way the doors worked, and added a door prop mechanism to hold the doors open. This mechanism took up some of the same space as the factory door panel pocket, which meant we had to redesign the pockets to clear the factory door props. These door panel pockets are unique, are specific left and right, and require no modifications to your bus to install.
My goal was to copy the factory '55-'61 pockets as best possible, and keep the overall look the same. The size, shape, and placement of the pocket hole is the same as the earlier pockets. The rivets and spacing are identical to the originals, and the overall size, shape, and depth of the pocket is the same as the originals. The only difference between these and my earlier pockets is the little jog on the bottom leading edge, to clear the prop stay, which is not noticeable when the pocket is installed. It does limit the available space in the pocket space slightly, but it still holds your maps, church key, or smart phone perfectly.

I also make cab roof and kick panels as well.
The cost is $385 for a six piece cab set w/64-67 pockets, vapour barrier, with clip holes for a kombi or a panel.
$375 for a 7 piece set with clip hole pocket cab door panels for a single cab truck.
$600 for a 15 piece set with clip hole pocket cab door panels for a double cab truck.
I can supply them unpainted as well, please email me with your specific needs.

Update 2020:
These now come with a vapour barrier already installed before the pocket is attached, the price was adjusted.
Formerly: they did not come with a vapour barrier installed
