[WTB] WANTED: This 1962 Double Cab ~ know where it is?? Price: yours
|
Back in the 80's this was my ride. It was the first car I ever built that made it in a magazine and the memories I had with it were pretty awesome. I have always wondered where it has gone and if there is any way I can get it back...I would love to.
Its a 62, had a couple unique odd details to it. I had mounted semaphores to the outside of the B pillar. On the inside of the pillar I cut quarter sized holes so I could get to the bolts that held the semaphore boxes on. The drivers side pillar and the beltline there was pretty thick with filler (a forklift hit it back there at one point before I owned it). It has safari windows and a home made canopy with a frame made out of electrical conduit. The interior was crazy striped multi tone blue fabric with blue vinyl around it. I had a total 80's steering wheel in it, the engine tins were painted blue and white...I even painted stripes with a VW logo along the frame rails (backwards so you could read it in a mirror at the shows).
I am sure it has long fallen apart and been rebuilt...I doubt it still looks like this. But if you have seen it, or know where it is...let me know please!
