1971 Clipper - L Bus - Very Rare Bus   Price: $29950
Up for Sale is my 1971 Volkswagen Bus Clipper-L. Its a rare bus.

Thread with history:

The Clipper - L is a European Bus that was built to be extra deluxe. It came from the factory with jail bars in the rear windows, chrome luggage rack on rear seat, bumper trim, slightly different interior panels with extra chrome looking strips, and a clock. These are very rare buses and from speaking to other Clipper-L fans in the US, there are less than 20 of this style of Bus in the United States. Google it and you will find more info. The clipper comes with many options and has a different vin starting with 241-

This bus came from Germany and was purchased at Fritz Killian (sticker still on) new by a GI. He shipped it to San Francisco area where it was traded in at a VW dealer. One of the guys who worked at the dealer bought it and kept it, would go camping until in 1999 or 2000 the fuel pump went out. It sat until 2016 when a car flipper bought it.

I bought this Bus from the car flipper and did all the right things to it. The good news is the original owner bought rust proofing and it saved this bus. The rust proof is chipping off in places showing a clean underbelly without rust. Where there was surface rust inside, I took care of it (see build thread). Here is what I did:

New rubber everywhere including tires, windows, door seals etc. Its water tight!
New brake booster, new pads.
New ball joints
New Tires
New reupholstered the seats (they were toast)
New valve covers
New Electronic Ignition from Pertronix
New front blinker lenses
New Side lenses and side rear lights
New front headlights - Low and High Beams work
New Bulbs for inside lights (all inside lights work)
New battery
New Seat Belts
New rubber flooring
High Quality custom made roof rack with oil stained wood
Cool front european plate.
Engine is Dual Solex carb and dual port 1600CC Engine.
Recently Adjusted Valves
New Drag Link - Steering adjusted
Stock Transmission that shifts well
Clutch, steering, engine and brakes are great.
78K original miles (I have receipts to prove that).

I preserved all the paint so its all original with some pantina. The nose has been repainted and the bumpers. I media blasted the interior floors, applied por15 and repainted in order to preserve the original floors. They came out great IMHO.

I really love this bus, its road ready, drives great and is super cool. This one is truly rust free (I know there are a lot of claims, but this one was saved by rust coating and a dry climate). I don't want to sell this bus, but I have to thin my heard due to college expenses for my son.

I have sold other VWs and I only respond to those that are respectful, and those that I feel are serious about this bus.
