Don't be fooled by cheap aftermarket floats! We have seen a ton of new cheap plastic aftermarket floats fail lately. When a float gets stuck, it either starves the engine of fuel, or worse: it floods the engine and won't shut the fuel off. When this happens, the oil in the crankcase can get so diluted with fuel that it will fail to properly lubricate your bearings, and you'll be buying an engine instead of a float.
The "new" aftermarket (presumably Chinese) floats that we have been seeing fail have been the ones people are buying on e Bay and from other vendors. Some have been literally dissolving in the float bowl when exposed to fuel. Many have been getting stuck and binding. They can be easily identified as they lack the "SOLEX" marking on them.
Our floats are genuine factory floats, and carry the SOLEX logo. They work.
