In our experience, the biggest bang for your buck you can get.
These venturi were CAD drawn to optimize flow and volume, flow bench tested, dyno tested, street and strip tested before release to the public. Results so far with the IDA version show a high HP gain of 22hp and a low of 10hp, both with increased drivability.
With a regular venturi you are dealing with a set number. Increasing the size will give you more volume at the expense of air speed. On the flow bench both air speed and volume showed an increase with these venturi. If you are running a 40mm venturi you can opt for the 38/42, which will give you better top and bottom end, or the 36/40 which will keep the top end where it is but give you a lot more bottom end and drivability. At the end of the day the limiting factors will be the cam and heads. Be aware that you may have to increase the size of the air or drop the main jet size to accommodate the extra flow. We recommend having an 02 sensor for proper jetting & tuning. If you have the Empi 40 HPMX then call us - it is a different venturi entirely.
