NOS Porsche 356 pre A Oldspeed Okrasa fuel filter Price: 220 GBP

This appears to be a VW / Porsche dealer supply part, as I guess it is later than the original 356 pre A production due to the manufacture by MANN for VW / Porsche. This would be due to it being a service part and therefore required long after production had ceased.
It can be used for many vehicles and is a really nice piece that can be used on any set-up rather than the cheap plastic filters.
I like to use this type of filter and run hard fuel lines to and from it rather than the poor quality rubber fuel hose lines that we now have to replace all too often. It is a much safer way to install fuel lines on your project vehicle.
The housing is complete with the internal filter element too.
NOS condition, so it's never been used but has been stored for many years – please consider this. The part may not be perfect but it is about the best quality part you will find even if you have to put in some effort to make it perfect for your project, or just use as it and enjoy the patina of NOS parts.
The filter housing has been painted silver. I don't know when this would have been done but I don't think it would have been done by the manufacturer or dealer. It is only a very light covering of paint and comes off very easily. It appears to have protected the raw finish of the part very well and this may have been the reason it was done, maybe even by the manufacturer or the dealer to preserve the part while held in the dealer parts department.
These were fitted just before the fuel pump on Porsche engines from 1951 up to 1955. Also seen on some Okrasa and Denzel 30HP (36HP in USA) engines. Very rare and very hard to find with the filter element.
