This is a different kind of samba ad.
We are planning on selling our home in a couple years or so and seriously downsizing our "stuff" is needed. VW Parts is a big part of that "stuff". I have been buying/collecting/hoarding early VW parts for over 30 years. I'm at that "you can't take it with you" phase. So here is how it is going to work:
I am going to post this "Zarwerks Yard Sale" ad and advertise typically 10 different parts in it. A few pics of each, short description and price. Once something sells, I will remove it/them, and replace them with other parts. I expect this ad to be up for many months.
Most of my parts are split and oval era Beetle parts, a little bit of later stuff. May be a TINY bit of type 2 stuff too (I also own a '56 Singlecab). I plan to price things very reasonably. Most all small parts will include shipping in the continental US. And I have a lot of small stuff. PayPal is preferred and I never add a fee for buyers to use it. Free shipping will be via USPS Parcel Post, if you want faster service and or insurance, that is extra and you have to let me know so I can add it to the price. If you don't let me know, and not pay the extra costs, it goes USPS Parcel post, uninsured (although I may, at my discretion, use Priority if those flat rate boxes make sense for example, but will not charge the buyer extra if I do).
Also check out my other ads. I do have some higher dollar stuff that I will be getting rid of that needs more than 2-3 pics to be offered. I'll make separate ads for those.
Here's another thing. As I go through this stuff a bit at a time, I am going to make myself pack it, and weigh it, before it gets listed. I have to do this as when I get payment for something, I just want to be able to grab the box, print a label and drop it off at the PO. Everything will be packed VERY well, I have tons of boxes and packing material that I also need to get rid of. Since I am limited to 18 pics, I may only post one pic of the part in this ad. But I will have others that I took before I packed it. E-MAIL me if you want to see additional pics, and please be clear about what part you are talking about. But if I didn't take a pic of a certain detail/angle, I will not be able to get them as the part is packed.
Also, you can't combine shipping, add stuff to the box etc., but then again, if I am paying the shipping, so what. It may also mean that I can't provide additional details about the part that aren't evident in the pics. Hopefully that is not an issue.
I have some large stuff, bumpers, heater channels, fenders, doors. I would LOVE for people local to come and pick this stuff up. But big stuff can be shipped, but it is always very expensive. Using Greyhound Freight is not an option. Worst case, I'll take it to a UPS store, let them wrap it and tell me how much, BUT you will have to pay me a "large item" deposit in addition to the parts cost when you pay for the part (I'm thinking $100-$200). Once it ships, I will refund you the difference between the deposit and actual shipping cost. I know it sucks. Shipping big stuff always sucks, I hate it. But some big stuff I list may be so reasonably priced that it might be worth it.
I will not "hold" anything for anyone. If you want something, be ready to pay for it when you message me. My e-mail is [email protected], also my PayPal address. If it is a free shipping item and you are in the continental US, you can just PayPal for the part you don't have to contact me first. BUT, make SURE I get a good shipping address for you. If you are outside the continental US, you will have to contact me first for a total shipped of course.
If you want something from the ad, please be CLEAR about what you want. Best to just copy the item description right from the ad and use it in an e-mail, or PayPal description/comment.
Lastly, if there is something in particular you are looking for, feel free to message/PM me. I will try to reply to all, but expect quick, short answers.
I ran this whole idea past Everett and he has no issues with it. If you "watch" the ad, you will get notified every time the ad is changed.
Thanks!!
