ONLY LOOKING FOR A FACTORY 11-G Three fold Rag Top Sunroof Split Bug
Must have all the correct (split era) bolt on body parts, and on correct #’s matching pan/chassis not to concerned about motor or transmission! That will be updated. Not looking for a major project or a rust bucket! Nor am I looking for a Zwitter! Budget is UP TO $80,000 (including any shipping cost) for a pristine concourse condition driver (with 100% correct engine and trans) and budget price goes down if the condition (and missing or incorrect parts) goes down! This has been a 7 year quest so far, so I am looking for something that just might not exist any more, or is fake or is just over priced! But thought I would try this route and see if anything comes up?
The one pictured, is a 1951 I regrettably sold in 2014, it was a MUSEUM piece!! And I have been kicking myself in the ass ever since, for selling it!!
Be prepared to send me pictures of ALL the correct bolt on parts that are split ONLY parts!! Ribbed bumpers, headlights, underneath hood/bonnet as shown in pictures, front fenders in all the spots that make it correct for splits, running boards splits have reinforcement gussets underneath, wiper arms are round best described as a wire shape not flat, door windows our one piece glass with a notch in them for ventilation, doors are ribbed and the window crank turns about 11 times to go up or down, 51 and earlier have a mount for the spear tire as shown in picture, rear fenders have a oval shaped stamping for the taillight mount bracket as shown in picture, deck lid has a V shaped bracket for the hood spring known as a wide spring and the cutout for the pope nose is oddly shaped, the semaphores are ribbed and not smooth on the metal edge, the deluxe trim is also ribbed with 3 ribs, the front hood handle is made of solid aluminum and has it's own shape compared to newer ones, the deck lid handle in a L shape not a T shape as in newer ones, the wheels are 16" x 3" and have like 3.5" backspacing, pan/Chassy has to be numbers matching and 100% correct....!!
Sorry to mansplain all this, but if you want 60, 70, 80, 90, 100K for your 11-G split bug everything NEEDS to 100% correct!! I don't have enough time left in my life to surch the world for years and years for what are now un-uptainum parts!!
If you are NOT willing to send pictures of ALL the above described bolt on split era parts, than please don't bother even responding. Before I take your word for it and jump on a plain, rent a car, find a place to stay while I come to check out your bug and all that expense over and over again, your goanna need to prove to me you have what I am looking for and am willing to pay top dollar for!!
