I am specifically looking for a trade but will consider selling in order to buy what I am after. Offers considered. I can supplement cash for the right bus. I also have some other VW’s I would consider grouping together in a trade as well. Make an offer if you are interested in buying outright.
My priority trade would be for:
-1968-1970 deluxe passenger Bus in Montana or Chianti Red in original color scheme (red with white roof and white bumpers) that has survived time and the “creativity” of past owners. Older restorations are ok as long as it is holding up relatively well and is limited in poor bodywork (not a bondo bucket). Projects missing pieces and in need of mechanical restoration are something I can handle. Will consider trades for other survivor condition cars.
For trade is this early 1968 panel that was used and has/had logos for an electronics is store. I received this bus from a close friend for helping him build and maintain some of his VWs. He has since passed away and it is a sentimental car for me, however, I do not have the resources, time, or patience to work with body shops to restore it and make it the keeper that it deserves to be. I’m rationalizing this trade to satisfy another sentimental “want.’’
The bus needs metal repair/replacement on the front floors, doglegs, rocker area just ahead of the rear fenders, lower rear corners, batter trays, two spots on the drip rail, passenger door bottom, front wheel wells, and a couple spots in the cargo floor. Everything else is solid.
The bus rolls and steers. All mechanicals need to be gone through. It includes a 1600cc engine (correct for the year and possibly the original engine B5006072), rear bumper, and yellow 14” wheels and hubcaps.
