December 60 Original paint beetle with Sunroof. Price: £16995
|
Really nice original paint beetle that was first registered in the Gavleborg area of Sweden on December the 5th 1960.
I’m listing the car for a friend and can put any interested parties in contact for telephone chat if required.
It is a 61 colour concept model with colour coded parts inside. Grey steering wheel, turn signal switch, handbrake, gearstick.
Being a 61 it has full syncro gearbox, cloth headlining, small back lights, no fuel gauge dash. I’ve had a few 61’s and they are a superb model having all the classic features and great drive ability with the full syncro gearbox.
This car was barn stored for decades and eventually found and brought out and into warm garage storage in the last 10 years.
Since then it has had various jobs done to it including the fitment of the original year correct two fold sunroof. This was expertly fitted by a professional metal guy in Sweden. The sunroof opens and closes well and has had a new professionally made cover fitted.
The car is original paint L41 black and is a really nice straight example. There were a few small repairs done to fenders, rear bumper mounts and a little in spare wheel well. Any repairs were done professionally and were small localised repairs to blend in and preserve the untouched original look. Small paint blends were done by The patina blender herein the UK (see his Instagram he does nice work).
Original fenders, valances, doors, hood etc. every panel is original to the car. Original floorpans and heater channels is superb condition.
Inside the car is lovely too. A very original untouched feel. Original carpets, seat upholstery, rubber mats, door cards etc.
Lovely original paint dashboard with all correct trim, switches etc.
The motor was recently gone through by a VW engine builder and given a top end rebuild and tidy up (see pics).
Included in this were. New valve guides, piston rings, pushrod tubes, exhaust, gaskets etc. it’s a lovely original looking motor. Video available of it running.
The brakes just thoroughly overhauled (September 2024) and best quality (ATE etc) quality parts were used. New master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and soft lines were all replaced. Drum braking surfaces cleaned, pedal free play set and adjusted.
All electrics work. New top quality 6v battery. Starts first time every time.
Lights, wipers, dashboard lights, turn signals, horn…..everything works as it should.
All original documentation is with the car including dealer supplied key fob, Swedish dealership location map, original registration document, document folders etc.
This is a great car and it’s only due to a Model T hot rod build that the owner is doing that means the car is up for sale. He’s looking to free up some funds and garage space to push on with the hot rod.
